Relocation Germany

General Information:

It was in 1990 that Berlin replaced Bonn as the capital of Germany. Today, Germany is one of the more important engines of the European Union.

Economy:

Germany is the strongest economic power in Europe. The country has the highest export figures which are mostly due to the automobile industry. Since many years, goods made in Germany are reputed to be of high quality. German industry is very strong, but the main employer remains the tertiary sector.

Education:

School is mandatory at the age of 6. Each region has its own cultural policy. The government gives the general directives but each region has its own educational courses, structure, and diploma.

Health:

In Germany, the health system is cut in two. On one side are the public health insurances which are accessible by everyone and which guarantee some kind of essential medical assistance. On the other side are the private health insurances which propose a complementary, and sometimes complete, insurance. In general, the private health insurance subscriptions are more expensive than the others, but the reimbursement is higher.

Expatriates:

Many expatriates decide to relocate to Berlin, Munich, Dusseldorf, Frankfurt, or Hamburg. But it is mainly the successive immigration waves and the fall of the Berlin wall which made the real estate market so tense. If your expatriate is relocated to Germany, he/she should expect the accommodation search to last slightly longer than predicted. Of course, we will support you to find the adequate housing for the expatriate and his/her family.
